On November 18, AR company Rokid hosted the Rokid Jungle 2024 Partner & New Product Launch Event, officially unveiling its latest AR glasses co-branded with BOLON — the Rokid Glasses, priced at 2,499 yuan. The event also introduced Rokid Station 2 (Creator Edition) and Rokid Spatial Link.
Over a decade ago, global tech giants began exploring the AR/VR field. Back to 2024: Rokid officially launched its next-generation AI+AR glasses — the Rokid Glasses. Featuring capabilities in photography, display, translation, navigation, object recognition, and multiple AI functions, these glasses integrate "excellent eyewear, camera, headphones, and assistant" into one device.
Equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon AR1 platform, Rokid Glasses boast 14-bit dual ISP processing capable of capturing 2.7 billion pixels per second. The device includes 2GB RAM, 32GB ROM, and a 12MP camera on the left frame for high-quality photo/video capture. The right frame houses an LED indicator for status notifications, making Rokid Glasses a perfect blend of aesthetics and functionality. Supporting voice control and touch operations, the final product will offer 4 hours of continuous use on a full charge. The accompanying charging case provides 10 additional charges with 20-minute quick charging, ideal for live streaming and VLOG recording.
As the pinnacle of AI+AR integration, Rokid Glasses feature multimodal AI large models enabling visual recognition for functions like AI object identification, photo-based Q&A, multilingual translation, quick replies, real-time navigation, transcription, instant notes, and health reminders. Leveraging high-definition camera modules and the Qwen large model, users can ask questions directly or use photo recognition. Cloud API integrations allow Taobao product searches/purchase-by-picture, Alipay QR code + voiceprint secure payments, etc. Voice queries without camera activation respond in under 1 second, with camera-based functions completing within 2 seconds. As premium eyewear, the glasses employ Micro LED + glass diffractive waveguide technology with binocular green-light engines, 30° FOV, 1000nit brightness, and two ultra-linear directional high-fidelity speakers with beamforming microphones – making them excellent headphones too. With a sleek design resembling conventional black-framed glasses, they offer lightweight comfort (49g total weight including display components), fashionable color options, and customizable lenses for myopia/astigmatism users with easy snap-in installation.
The event also unveiled the Rokid Station 2 (Creator Edition), featuring specialized 3D capture capabilities for creating high-quality spatial photos and videos anytime, anywhere. Precision-calibrated with inter-lens spacing slightly greater than human eye distance, it ensures optimal depth perception. With optical axis deviation under 0.5 degrees, the device guarantees image precision and stability. Supporting real-time 3D video recording and 60fps HD photography, it becomes the ideal choice for professionals. Unlike traditional 3D cameras, Station 2 Creator Edition offers immediacy – users can view 3D content directly through Rokid Glasses immediately after capture, eliminating the need for computer transfers and dedicated 3D glasses. While shooting and instant viewing capabilities are mature, 3D content editing remains a technical challenge for future improvement. Notably, the Rokid Spatial Link accessory (priced at 699 yuan) received enthusiastic applause. This device connects smartphones, PCs (Mac/Windows), and game consoles (Xbox/Switch) to Rokid Glasses, transforming content into 3D visuals equivalent to a 300-inch screen for immersive viewing experiences.
